Shirley Boys' High School

World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

SBHS 40 Hour Challenge

This year, our whole school is taking on the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge to provide kids with food for today, and a future for tomorrow. From personal challenges to group efforts, students are stepping up to raise awareness and funds for those facing poverty and food insecurity.

One of our major initiatives is Meals That Matter, a joint project with Avonside Girls’ High School. Over the challenge weekend (June 13–15), our student leaders will cook and freeze 500 healthy meals for people in need across Ōtautahi. At the same time, we’re raising funds to support communities in the Solomon Islands - one of the places most affected by climate change and food insecurity.  These funds will help families farm climate-smart crops and plant mangroves so they can feed their children in a changing climate.

Every donation helps us create positive change. Whether it’s through meal-making, personal sacrifices, or creative challenges, our students are committed to making these 40 hours count.

Back us today and be part of something bigger.
