Prep for Activation Day

Our student leaders who attended the World Vision Conference planned the day with Ari, filmed promotional videos, plastered posters everywhere, popped popcorn, made drinks, visited classrooms to promote the activation day!  They got to live and see a snapshot of what perseverance, sacrifice and passion for a project to help support a worthy cause is all about leading up to this activation.  Thank you World Vision for supporting our student leaders (Young Leaders, Travelwise Leaders, Enviro team) to look at the world through an important humanitarian lens.

Activation Day - Sign Up station

One of our World Vision Youth Ambassadors came along and spent the morning with our tamariki.  Ari participated and gave out lots of hugs from our tamariki who recognised him from the assembly chat he had with our school.  Thanks Ari for your support!

Activation Activity - Movie Combo

Our biggest money maker was our movie combo!

Activation Day - Hungry Hippo (Nga Iwi Style)

Our Young Leaders had a lot of energy to help our hungry hippos grab balls from the centre of our hall.  Another gold coin got you your own chauffer who led at a safe pace so that everyone could be successful at securing a ball for their team.  This was the most popular game!

Activation Activity - Lava-lava Volley

This was the hardest and needed the most concentration but they donated a gold coin to participate with friends and tossed the ball in the air and some actually played volley with their lava-lavas, tossing their ball over to the opposite team who were eagerly waiting to catch the ball with their lava-lava.

Activation Activity - Gumboot /Rubber Chicken Toss

This was a fan favourite on the day!  Mrs Vimahi's gumboots were heavy!  A few of the rubber chickens flew furtherer than expected  ha ha ha

Giant Jenga tower competition.  Another favourite from our activation day!

Activation Activity: Bean bag toss

Practised their aim with the Bean Bag toss!  Do you like our boards?  Mr Ganda got them for our school!  How cool!!

Activation Activity - Memory

Room 7 had 4x games and one that the tamariki really loved playing was the giant memory game.

Activation Activity - Burma Trail. Nga Iwi Style

Tamariki had lots of fun with friends enjoying different activities for a gold coin!  One of the activities was the burma trail where tamariki were blindfolded and led along our native tree track and bike track.

Activation Activity - Lolly Jar Guess

Tamariki had a great time guessing how many lollies were in a jar!  $1 for two guesses and they came running to support this worthy cause!  WE also announced the winner at the end of our activation day!  Congratulations Peka!

World Vision 40 Hour Challenge
