World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

Climate change is a pressing issue that affects an ever growing number of communities across the globe, especially within our vulnerable Pacific neighbours.

As my friend Hera and I dedicate our weekend to our challenge, we are making a sacrifice for the greater good of the world. The only way we can fight climate change is by uniting. People helping people.

So, I plan to spend 40 hours completing demanding physical tasks - a small sacrifice for me makes a huge difference for others.

We will

- Bike 30km

- Run 10km

The rules are simple: complete these challenges within the 40 hours.

It will be a challenge for us, but nothing as difficult as the day to day life of those facing food instability during climate change.

As we exercise to our limit, we will experience a small slice of what life may be like in Pacific communities - fishing and farming for your own food - rather than the convenience of supermarkets which we simply take for granted.

Do you want to help those facing the injustices of these actions? Your donations will aid people in the Pacific islands to gain the knowledge and resources necessary to fuel their future. Every dollar counts, and your help is hugely appreciated.

A small sacrifice for us makes a lifetime difference for others.

Thank you for all your support! <3

10km run

Saturday 20th Jun
Following my 30km bike, I toughed out my aching legs and went for a 10k run. It was super windy which was nice in some directions but quite difficult in others. My Mum came with me and was there to motivate me through the last few kilometres when my legs felt as if they'd give way.

30km bike ride

Saturday 20th Jun
Despite the strong winds, we biked 30km in total - mostly down the main roads on the way too Bottle Lake forest, and then we spent some time exploring the tracks there before riding home. We were both knackered after this challenge, but were satisfied with our achievement!
