World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

40 Hours, 4 Challenges, 3 Goals: Hope, Awareness, & Community

Last year, Freddie & I participated in the 40-hour challenge, raising a total of $1438—every cent counts! We also gave hope to those suffering in Timor-Leste and spread awareness to those all around us. This year, we're aiming to go the extra mile and do even more for children in the Solomon Islands. My goal is $1000, and our combined goal is to raise $1500,  and we truly hope you can help make a difference in their lives by supporting us through this challenge.

We’re planning to make this year’s challenge much more intense than last year's. We'll still be spending 40 hours outdoors, but this time, we're adding 4 additional challenges to represent the essential needs that everyone requires, and will be spending 40 hours in their shoes. Here are the details of our four intense challenges:

40 Hours Outdoors: We’ll spend the entire 40 hours outside, with only a tent, sleeping bag, and mat. During this time, the only reason we’ll go indoors is to use the bathroom.

No Luxuries: For 40 hours, we’ll live without any luxuries—no cars, no technology, no medical attention, no schooling, and even limited clothing (we’re only allowed 7 clothing items each).

Limited Essential Resources: We’ll have a total of 4 litres of water each, with no food. Bonus Challenge: We’ll have $40 to spend on food or anything else we may need during the challenge.

Community Service: We’ll also be completing four community service activities because we are some of our school's World Vision leaders this year. We plan to involve the school with a special fundraising event, we are two of our school's 40 Hour Challenge Leaders this year, so we are trying to get the school further involved in the challenge through this ,a small tree planting, a baking sale fundraiser, and one mystery activity (I’ll keep you posted on what it is). (Please note we may not be able to achieve all of this with limited resources so during these activities we will be allowed some extra items.)

Alone: It will be just Freddie, and I, as well as the school during our fundraising events, but apart from that no adult help.

We are so grateful and so very appreciative for your support, and we can’t wait to see the amazing results we can achieve together for children in the Solomon Islands!

Kind Regards/Mihi Aroha
