World Vision 40 Hour Challenge
I’m going 40 hours offline and picking up 400 pieces of rubbish at my local beach to stand in solidarity with Children in the Solomon Islands on the frontline of climate change.
From Friday 21st 6pm till Sunday 23rd of June at 10am, I’m taking on the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge by stepping away from my screens (yes, even instagram!) and giving back to the whenua by cleaning up my local beach.
It’s not just about going offline, it’s about taking action.
I’m doing this challenge to help provide children with food for today, and a future for tomorrow.
Kids like 9 year old Polyne in the Solomon Islands have deeply inspired me. She wakes up at 5am to go fishing so her family can eat. I’ll never fully understand the resilience of our brothers and sisters across the Solomon Islands, but I do want to walk in solidarity.
In the Pacific, 1 in 6 children is living in severe food poverty. But together, we can help change that.
The funds we raise will help families grow climate-smart crops and plant mangroves, so they can feed their children and protect their futures in a changing climate.
