For the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge, I will be living out of a backpack for 40 hours. Everything I need—including my food, water bottle, spare clothes, and sleeping gear—must fit inside my backpack before the challenge begins. Once I start, I won't be allowed to add any extra items, and I will carry my backpack with me wherever I go. I will only be able to use items that are inside my backpack and will sleep using only what I have packed. I'm doing this to raise awareness of the millions of people around the world who have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict, disasters, or poverty and can only take a few belongings with them. While my experience won't compare to the challenges they face every day, I hope it will help me better understand how difficult life can be when you have to leave so much behind.
