World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

Kia ora whānau,

Another year of taking part in the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge 🧡

This kaupapa means a lot to me because I care deeply about our neighbours in the Pacific and the way the climate crisis is impacting families who have contributed the least to it. This year, I’m raising funds so families in Solomon Islands can get the seeds, tools, and skills they need to grow food and support their children through changing climates.

In the Pacific, 1 in 6 children are living in severe food poverty. That statistic honestly sits heavily with me, and I’m proud to be part of something where young people across Aotearoa can create real, visible change together.

I haven’t decided on my challenge just yet (I have now - check out my recent post!!!!), but I’ll share an update once I do. If you’re able to support, it would mean so much to me, every donation helps children grow up healthy and strong.

Now’s the time to stand up for each other and make a difference.

My Updates

I've picked my 40 Hour Challenge!

Tuesday 16th Jun

This weekend, I'll be living for 40 hours with everything I need fitting into a single backpack.

For many people in the Solomon Islands and around the world, travelling long distances carrying only essential belongings is a normal part of life. While I know this challenge can only offer a tiny glimpse into that reality, it has made me think about what we truly need versus what we simply want.

For me, this challenge is also about reflecting on overconsumption and consumerism. We live in a world that constantly encourages us to buy more, own more, and upgrade more. But if I could only take what fits in one backpack, what would actually matter?

Over the next 40 hours, I'll be stepping away from many everyday comforts and carrying only the essentials. I'm looking forward to seeing what I learn and sharing the experience with you all.

If you'd like to support my challenge and help raise funds for communities facing poverty and the impacts of the climate crisis, I'd be incredibly grateful for your support.
