I am so, so proud to announce that collectively we have raised $1375 (not that that's a reason to stop now), and I am absolutely blown away by the passion of my community! MASSIVE SHOUT OUT to Versatile Nelson for an incredibly generous donation - dollar matching the mahi from everyone else who kindly donated. Despite my slight nepotistic perks, this still really speaks to what a caring and strongly led local business they are! Together, we are making a direct impact in the lives of children living in Solomon Islands - we have now raised enough for almost 50 vegetable gardens or more than 6 mangrove plantations for whole communities. This is truly life-changing work and something you should all be so proud of being a part of. Ngā mihi nui - thank you!

CHALLENGE COMPLETE + goal update

Wednesday 11th Jun
I spent last weekend doing my own 40 Hour Challenge walking 40kms in the Banks Peninsula. Unfortunately this became more like 20kms after a nasty turn in the weather making it unsafe to continue (full story coming soon) But I did complete 40 hours offline and outdoors so I’m still pretty chuffed. So excited to visit some other challenges this coming weekend and muck in, with food kitchens, tree planting, and more! I have been totally blown away by the generosity of my sponsors so have decided to change my goal to $800 to reflect this awesome-ness. Keep sharing and donating - you are changing the world!

What we've achieved - plus update!

Thursday 5th Jun
thanks to my awesome sponsors we have now raised more than what's required for a mangrove plantation - this is a photo of real mangroves through world vision programming in the community of ama in northern malaita si. also an update on my challenge - due to avalanche risk and also the risk of freezing we have decided to change to walking 40kms in the Banks Peninsula which will still be wet but hopefully less hypothermia-y. Once out the other side, I am super excited to share the journey with more photos and updates - but will be offline all weekend (pinky promise I'm not ghosting you) That's all for now - MUCH LOVE!

3 DAY COUNTDOWN!

Tuesday 3rd Jun
In only three days, I will be headed to the hills - taking on 40kms of the St James Walkway! Despite vague avalanche concerns and last-minute changes to where I will be walking, I am so pumped to take this challenge on for kids like Polyne in the Solomon Islands. I will be spending 40 hours offline using only my camera to document my challenge as well as some film. Unsure how I will survive without music and block blast, but a girl can only try - card games and hot raro may be my only hope.
