I'm raising funds so families in Solomon Islands can get the seeds, tools and skills they need to grow crops to feed their children in a changing climate.
 
This kaupapa matters because in the Pacific region, 1 in 6 kids are living in severe food poverty. Together, rangatahi in Aotearoa can help change that.

For my 40 Hour Challenge, I wanted to do something different from what most people choose. I didn't want to do something ordinary like giving up food or technology. Instead, I wanted to do something incredible and meaningful.

Then I started thinking about the children in the Solomon Islands whose homes have been destroyed by cyclones and storms. I wondered, "How do they live like that?" That's when an idea came to me.

Why don't I spend 40 hours living outside, just as many people in poverty in the Solomon Islands are forced to do every day?

To make the challenge authentic, I have set these rules:

Rule 1: I may not enter any building or structure during the 40-hour challenge.

Rule 2: Ranger Madelai Faber will check that I am following all the rules.

Bonus Rule: No help from my parents!

I am excited to take on this challenge and gain a better understanding of some of the difficulties that people in the Solomon Islands face.
