Kia ora everyone,
Jievesha here! This year, I am taking on the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge to support our Pacific neighbours in the Solomon Islands. 
As people of Aotearoa, looking out for others and showing manaakitanga is just who we are. Right now, so many tamariki in the Solomon Islands are going without the basics that every kid deserves—like safe drinking water, proper meals, a good education, and basic healthcare. It’s a harsh reality, but we can actually do something about it.
I’ve set myself a big personal goal to raise $500 to help bring vital, practical change to these communities.
Every single dollar makes a real difference. Your donation could help put books in a child's hands, build clean water systems, or fund essential health programs. It could mean a mum gets proper medical care for her newborn, or a family gets the tools they need to grow their own food and thrive.

Wow! Thanks to everyone, I have raised $450 for World Vision! I am now only $54 away from my ultimate goal. Who can help me cross the finish line before Monday? Since eight people have donated over $15 i will have to do 8 things that will make the challenge harder for me as a chalenge.

I want this challenge to have a purpose beyond simply being offline.

Donate $15 or more and assign me a mission to complete during my 40 hours away from screens. Some examples include:

  • Research and write a short presentation about life for children in the Solomon Islands.
  • Read a book and share three lessons learned
  • Learn about a different culture and share what I discovered
  • Walk 5000 Steps in Solidarity: Complete a sponsored walk while reflecting on the daily challenges many children face accessing education and resources
  • Create and present one new idea that could raise awareness or support for children in developing communities.
