World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

Mackenzie's 40 Hour Famine Challenge

I'm raising funds to help the people in the Solomon Islands  who are facing a famine, due to the rising water levels killing the crops. This is causing parents not being able to feed their children.

I am a year 8 student, and I thought this is a good opportunity to see what others are facing in other countries that don't have food.

I'm not to sure what to expect, but I am going to try push through and come out stronger on the other side. I hope that this effort can change someone's life.

I want to thank everyone who put their consideration into supporting me. And I want to give all my thanks and love, because every cent matters!!!

I started my fast at 8pm on 19 June. I woke up this morning feeling super hungry. Most mornings I don't want breakfast, but of course this morning I did. I have been hydrating and snacking on dates. My mum has been trying to keep me busy and not thinking about food. It has worked well. 
I stayed in my room while everyone else had dinner and we will be having a movie marathon night. 
Tomorrow I start eating again at 12pm, so I'm excited about that, and planning my starting meal, so that my stomach doesn't cramp to much.
This journey has surprised me in a way that I didn't think. I thought I would be okay, but now that I am really hungry, and feeling the nausea and dizziness, it has helped me understand what those who don't have feel.
I am grateful to everyone supporting me and keeping me in their thoughts.
Tonight my prayers will be on those who don't have food and go through this everyday.

hello my angel. i'm so proud of you attempting this 40 famine challenge. you're an incredibly strong young girl who can do this. just hang in there and if you don't manage to complete the challenge because of your tummy issues, it doesn't matter.
