World Vision 40 Hour Challenge

Hi everyone,

This year for the 40 hour challenge we have set ourselves a big task. We are planning to walk 40,000 steps each over 40 hours - no sitting for any of us that weekend! We know that many children around the world have to walk a long distance to get to school, medical care, clean water, and other basic necessities. This challenge will give us a tiny taste of how tiring that must be for them.

This year we are raising funds so that families in the Solomon Islands can get the seeds, tools and skills they need to grow crops to feed their children in a changing climate. This kaupapa matters because in the pacific region, 1 in 6 kids are living in severe food poverty. Such a sad statistic, and we saw this firsthand when we visited Fiji last year. Together, we can help change that.

We are passionate about this cause and your support would mean a lot to us. Please donate today so kids in the pacific get enough food to grow up healthy and strong. The 40 hour challenge is complete!

Our kids have all passed their 40,000 step goal, in less than 40 hours  In fact Ezra has done 58,000 already  Only two watches are pictured but all three kids have exceeded their goal.

They would love a few more sponsors to help them reach their fundraising goal, it's not too late to donate Every dollar makes a difference for families in the Solomon Islands.

Sunday update

Sunday 21st Jun

Hi everyone,

It is day two of our 40 hour challenge and today we did a walk to, and then around, a lake. Luckily it stopped raining and the sun came out so we didn't need our umbrellas. We are also doing lots of laps walking around the house. We only have a few hours to go but we are almost up to our total step count goal! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us so far 

Saturday steps update

Saturday 20th Jun

We have been doing the 40 hour challenge this weekend, and we have done lots of walking! We have done two big walks today, one through a reserve and one through a wetlands area. Also Ezra played hockey while the girls walked laps around the turf, and Bethany had a dance competition while Abby and Ezra walked back and forth under a verandah to shelter from the rain! Even though it was tiring and our legs hurt, we will keep going to reach or exceed our goal! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us so far, it is encouraging to know that while we are walking we are raising money for people who live in hard conditions and have to walk far for their food or education.
